My first overseas trip took place when I was 17 and still in high school. I took place in a school ‘immersion’ trip to East Timor and it was a truly profound experience for me.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve never heard of Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens, colloquially known as the Summer Palace. But trust me, you should definitely know about it and it should be on the top of your to do list the next time you’re in Austria.
I never thought I’d get a fish pedicure. I’m way too ticklish. But that’s exactly the bucket list experience I found myself having in Bali.
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock lately you’ve no doubt seen the gorgeous photos of the Tegalalang Rice Terrace, either with people strolling the fields in flowing dresses or soaring over the fields on a Bali swing. I visited the rice terraces when I was in Ubud, and let me tell you there is more to this location than looking pretty. Namely there’s stairs. Lots and lots of muddy and slippery stairs.
