chasing bucket list adventures and experiences
No trip to Berlin, Germany, would be complete without some sort of activity that acknowledges the country’ history between 1918 and 1990. During a casual stroll through the city you will come across various museums and monuments, and a paved brick line that criss-crosses the city to outline where the Berlin Wall once stood. And as a solo traveler it is all well and good to stroll around, stopping in areas that catch your interest, but I honestly cannot more highly recommend signing up for a Third Reich Walking Tour if you get the chance.
I firmly believe that everyone should visit a World War II Concentration Camp simply for the reminder of what we are a civilization are capable of. For this reason, and many others, visiting a concentration camp was on my bucket list.
What do you
think of when you think of Amsterdam? I confess that the only thing I actually knew about Amsterdam before I arrived was that you can consume marijuana at cafes and that there is a Red Light District. While I was vaguely aware of the canals and the bikes, these things were not what popped into my mind when I thought of the city. So what do yo do in Amsterdam besides getting high?
Amsterdam. The city of bicycles, tourist debauchery and tall, skinny buildings. I confess that when I went to Amsterdam I expected to see sex, drugs and maybe some rock ‘n’ roll. What I wasn’t expecting was to have my eyeballs seared out of my brain. What I wasn’t expecting was to be witness to a sex show. A sex show where my brother became the presenter’s favourite crowd participant.
Are you considering travelling overseas but are unsure if you should go solo or join a group trip? Here I’ve documented the pros and cons of group trips for travel.
Budapest: a city of gorgeous architecture, endless monuments and those thermal baths. It’s not an exaggeration to say that I left a piece of my heart in the city, and I am so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to spend 48 glorious hours in the city exploring. While I think you could easily spend a full week in Budapest since there are so many hidden gems, we only had a limited amount of time so we had to make the most of it, and while there were a few things that we didn’t get to, I’m pretty happy with what I was able to achieve in such a short amount of time.

Exploring the West MacDonnell Ranges in Outback Australia to find Red Bank Gorge and go for a swim and a hike.
On Christmas day I received a mini watercolor kit and put it to use during a day visit to Simpson’s Gap in the Red Centre. Check it out for a new bucket list idea.
The Parrtjima Festival of Light is one of the most amazing festivals held in Central Australia and should be on your Australian Outback bucket list.
